Great efforts will be undertaken to promote cross disciplinary research, technology development and an integrated curriculum for a work force empowered to deliver the intellectual resources for the bioscience industry in the 21st century. Undergraduate and graduate level programs will promote the multidisciplinary study in the fields of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, engineering, physical sciences and informatics, culminating in courses like biomedical engineering, biotechnology and pharmacology. Especially the Wageningen University for Life Sciences  plays an important role in the Life Sciences Initiative.
